On the day of the wedding:

We will fill in the No legal Impediment to the marriage, prior to the wedding and finalise all paperwork

I will legally ask your conscent, you have to be separate from one another for me to do this

We have verbal legalities to say in the ceremony, this will be outlined to you in a draft that I send you.

I also have to ask if you are consenting to the marriage.

Consent:
As of June 12, 2024, all authorised marriage celebrants are mandated by law under the Marriage Act 1961 (the Act) to meet with each party to the marriage separately and in person before the marriage ceremony. This requirement ensures that the marriage is being entered into voluntarily by both parties.
This procedure applies to all legal marriages and includes all authorised celebrants, such as Commonwealth-registered Marriage Celebrants, Ministers of Religion from recognised denominations, and State and Territory officials authorised to solemnise marriages.
To fulfil this responsibility please answer the following questions.
Note: These answers are confidential and will not be shared with the other party to the marriage.

1    Are you entering into this marriage of your own free will, without any form of coercion or pressure from others?    â–¡Yes â–¡No
2    Do you feel fully informed about the nature and consequences of this marriage and its legal implications?    â–¡Yes â–¡No
